I’m Bear Cole

I’m an Arizona-based artist, songwriter, producer, and DJ. I create emotionally direct, song-focused music built from electronic rhythm, memorable melodies, vivid atmosphere, and the strange, complicated business of being human.

Some songs are made to move with. Others are made to sit with. A track might be reflective, playful, frustrated, hopeful, deeply emotional, or several of those things before the second chorus. I follow the feeling and let each song decide what kind of room it needs.

Songwriting at the Center

Songwriting is the foundation of my work. Production gives each song its environment: the pulse underneath it, the air surrounding it, and the details that turn an idea into something you can feel.

Electronic music gives me an enormous vocabulary. House, funk, ambient space, cinematic scale, experimental textures, and other sounds can all become part of the arrangement when the song calls for them. Genre is useful for finding music, but it is not where I begin. I begin with the idea, the emotion, or the line that refuses to leave me alone.

Emotional Doesn’t Mean Humorless

Honesty matters to me, but honesty does not require permanent seriousness. Wordplay, dry humor, playful observations, light sarcasm, and unexpected turns belong beside love, uncertainty, isolation, joy, and reflection.

A serious song can still have a pulse. A dance record can still carry something personal. Music can say something real without treating itself like a museum exhibit.

Feel it. Don’t be precious about it.

Writing Songs To Storms explores songwriting, atmosphere, and emotional weight across a full-length album. Love in the Time of A.I. (Complete Collection) brings electronic production and human connection into the same uneasy conversation. Butterflies gathers another chapter of the catalog into one collection.

Arizona, Space, and Contrast

Arizona is part of how I understand atmosphere. Desert, mountain, heat, distance, weather, silence, city lights, and enormous stretches of sky all create contrast. That sense of space finds its way into the music—not as a costume, but as lived context.

The landscape reminds me that quiet and intensity can exist together. So can reflection and rhythm. So can a thunderstorm and a dance floor.

Bear Cole is my recording-artist identity within 1st Drop Music, the larger musical universe I created. The connection is public and intentional, while Bear Cole remains focused on its own catalog, sound, visual language, and listener experience.
